Let’s Make the Southeast Greenway a City Priority!
Do you have ideas about how Santa Rosa should prioritize its budget? Share your vision in the Community Survey, open now through February 14, and join the town hall on January 27. This is your chance to champion the Southeast Greenway and highlight its specific needs. Don’t miss this chance to shape what’s next for our city!
- The Southeast Greenway must be a City Council priority. At the December 3 celebration, community leaders, government officials, and our mayor spoke about the need to build and maintain momentum on the project. Help us make this project a City Council priority by showing support for including it in the city’s goals and 2025-2026 budget. Doing so will help the Parks and Recreation Department move forward.
- The Southeast Greenway requires a budgetary allocation for maintenance. As a new property, it’s understandable that the budget does not currently include funds to maintain the Southeast Greenway. But the City’s budget must be adjusted to address this new expense.
- Fire safety is a priority at the Southeast Greenway. An extra allocation in the budget earmarked for weed abatement should be included as part of the fire prevention strategy for the City.
Please share these ideas and others that matter most to you by completing the online survey, and/or by attending a community meeting at 6 p.m. January 27 at the Finley Community Center, 2060 West College Avenue in Santa Rosa. This will be the first town hall hosted by Santa Rosa Mayor Mark Stapp and Vice Mayor Eddie Alvarez as they discuss goals for the coming year and the 2025-2026 budget. For more information, see the City Bulletin about the event.
