It’s time to support the Southeast Greenway Land Acquisition!

The Santa Rosa City Council will consider the passage of a resolution including agreements that Caltrans requires as part of the Purchase and Sale Agreement process for the 47-acre Southeast Greenway property.

Santa Rosa City Council Meeting
City Hall, Council Chambers
100 Santa Rosa Ave, Santa Rosa, CA

Tuesday, July 25 after 4:00 pm

The resolution must include the following declarations:

  • The 47-acre Southeast Greenway land will be used for a public purpose.
  • Land retained by Caltrans for future housing will be served with parkland from the SE Greenway and should not be required to dedicate further land for park use upon development.
  • Developers of the future housing parcels will be required to pay park impact fees to the City of Santa Rosa.

A strong show of support will be key to a successful outcome. Please mark your calendars, invite a friend, and plan to attend in your Greenway T-Shirt. Volunteers will have extra shirts available at the Chamber entrance.

Here are some suggestions for the July 25th meeting:

  1. We will send a reminder email a few days before the meeting with the scheduled time for the Greenway agenda item.
  2. We urge Greenway supporters to sit together so that Council Members see a green sea of support.
  3. If you cannot attend, you may submit a public comment in advance by 5:00 pm on the Monday before the City Council Meeting via email at cc-comment@srcity.org, or recorded voice message at 707-543-3005.

With the City Council’s approval, the SE Greenway Project will open a new chapter – completing the long-awaited purchase of the property’s park and open space areas!

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, July 25th!
