Remembering the old proverb “it takes a village to raise a child,” the Greenway is our baby and it is taking a whole village to raise it. Years ago, professional architects and trail experts descended on Santa Rosa and, with the help of the community, told us what could be. We later gathered again to support zoning 49-acres of the Greenway as parkland for appraisal and purchase. We are now beginning the design phase of the park, and you are all invited, along with your neighbors, family, and friends to join us for a gathering in November. In this, and subsequent issues, we will shine a spotlight on some of the members of the “Village.” These are team members who have technical knowledge ranging from bees to bikes, art to arbors, and play to picnics. This will be fun and exciting as the creative imagination of each of us will bring a park design for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
